Feast NYC: Momofuku Noodle Bar

May 28, 2012

Momofuku Noodle Bar serves Fresca in a can, David Chang’s way of saying despite the phenomenal success of his restaurants, he still appreciates the little idiosyncrasies that make a dining experience fun. And so do the 15 people who were already waiting in line at 11:45 on a Saturday afternoon for the Noodle Bar’s first seating.

I am not exaggerating when I say I could eat a bowl of Momofuku Spicy Chicken ramen every day of my life. Nevermind the homemade noodles, the savory shredded chicken, and the poached local egg. It’s the broth. The savory, earthy, umami-defining, heart-warming broth. You don’t need to like soup, or ramen, or Asian food. There is no one on earth that wouldn’t love this bowl of liquid lust.

Also of note: incredible pork buns, Momofuku pork ramen, and burnt honey and peach soft serve.
